What's 4G?

4G is the fourth generation of mobile phone technology and follows on from 2G and 3G.  4G provides up to 3x faster data speeds depending on the amount of people using it (congestion) and location (coverage).

To enjoy 4G you'll need:

  • a 4G SIM

  • a 4G device (If unsure please check your user manual)

  • have 4G coverage

How do I upgrade to 4G?

Customers who currently have a 3G SIM are required to upgrade their SIM to a 4G SIM by January 2024 as our 3G network is shutting down. We are in the process of contacting all affected customers.

If you're already a customer, all you need to do is visit the mobile section of your account, go to the manage SIM section and you'll be able to request your 4G SIM.

Once you've received your new SIM, we recommend copying phone book contacts from your original SIM onto your handset so that you don't lose them. 

  1. After activation, your service will be upgraded to 4G within a few hours. If your handset doesn't pick up a 4G automatically, check 4G or LTE is switched on in your mobile network settings and restart your mobile.
