How do I reconnect my in-home smart display to my smart meter?

On rare occasions, your smart meter’s in-home display can lose connection to your meter. If it does happen, this is how to reconnect it, using either your in-home display or directly at your meter.

Using an in-home display

Directly at the meter

If you’re not sure which meter you have, the manufacturer’s name should be on the front of the meter.

Why does this happen?

Your meter connects to your smart in-home display via a Home Area Network, also known as HAN. It works like a hotspot on your mobile phone.

This connection lets you interact with your meter in near real-time. So, for example, you can see how much energy you're using or what your meter reading is.

If, on the rare occasion, your 'HAN' disconnects, you can easily get it back on track by following the steps in the links above.

What if the steps above don’t work?
