Is Google Pay safe?

Google Pay™ has a number of features that make it more secure than using a physical card. When you make a payment with Google Pay, it doesn't send your actual card number to the merchant. Instead, it uses a virtual account number meaning your real card details are never shared.

Additionally, you use your device’s biometric security, such as fingerprint unlocking to enable contactless transactions and to authenticate some payments.
