How do I use the IP addresses if I have a block of multiple static IP addresses?

If you’re using a block of IP addresses, it’s important to ensure they’re allocated to your devices correctly. You won’t be able to use the first or last IP address in the range as these are reserved. The second IP address should be allocated to your router. Any remaining addresses can then be assigned to any of the devices on your network.

Example block of eight static IP addresses:

  • IP/CIDR: 92.19.230.152/29

  • 92.19.230.152 – Network address (reserved)

  • 92.19.230.153 – Router address

  • 92.19.230.154 to 158 – Assignable addresses

  • 92.19.230.159 – Broadcast address (reserved)
