How to Register a Power of Attorney or Deputyship to an account

If you need to register a Power of Attorney or Deputyship to a UW account you can request it by using the options outlined in this article.

To register, we’ll need a copy of the legal document. This is to verify the details before the registration can be noted on an account. The Donor on the document must be the Account Holder.

Specific information on the account can't be provided unless a Power of Attorney notification has been verified on the account.

Requests can be made in three ways:

  1. Using the

    advising the Donor’s last name and the Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) access code to download from .

  2. Supplying a pdf copy of the legal document through our

  3. By posting a physical copy of the legal document to our Head Office.

Use our

available here. Select 'Account Management’ in the box marked “I’d like help with”, then select 'Power of Attorney or Deputyship’ in the box marked “Subject”. In “Your message” please provide the Donor’s last name and LPA access code to download from (this service is only available for LPAs registered after 1 January 2016 in England and Wales). Please be sure to have read the of use.

Please also include your UW Account Number or Supply Address (including your postcode) to help us identify the account.

Supplying a pdf copy

Use our

available here. Select 'Account Management’ in the box marked “I’d like help with”, then select 'Power of Attorney or Deputyship’ in the box marked “Subject”. Upload a pdf copy of the legal document attached (please note attachments can only be to a max size of 10MB) using the upload button that can be found above the blue send message button.

Posting a physical copy

It usually takes 3-4 working days from the document and request being received to be added to an account.
