Can I connect using my own Wi-Fi router?
Every new broadband order comes with a UW Wi-Fi hub. We recommend you use this router as it arrives pre-configured to UW, so all you need to do is plug it in once your broadband goes live.
To learn how to set up this router, follow our video here.
If you’d like to use your own router, you can. First of all, you’ll need to make sure your router isn’t locked by your previous provider. You’ll need to get in touch with them to check this.
You’ll also need to check if your router is ‘Very High-Speed Digital Subscriber Line’ (VDSL) compatible. You can find this in the manual that originally came with it. If it’s not VDSL compatible, the router won’t work with UW broadband.

If you’re asked for a username and password…
When configuring your router, you may be prompted to enter your username and password. You can find this in the welcome letter we sent you. You can also find these on your online account or UW app, by going to Services → Broadband → Manage this service. You’ll see an option as shown below.
